I have just found information on Matt Schofield's site about a GDM 9 cd box set release of the Winterland Nov 1973 run plus a bonus disc that was! available with pre-ordrs. There is a disc by disc track listing as well. Anyone know anything about it. Have I missed something? I usually get an e-mail from GD store about pre-order offers.

That would be great- I've been thinking of the set as "the one that got away" ever since.

It occurred to me that the above link might be the same information that you were referring to in your post. There's nothing on dead.net about the impending release, but judging by the rate with which they update that site it is not surprising. All the shows were removed completely from here at the archive some time ago, so one could infer from that an impending release.

I usually get emails from GDM about new releases! Ordered the Fillmore West 69 Box Set almost immediately. Hadn't heard anything about this Winterland 73 stuff from them, David Gans or any other credible source yet.

I found a link to pre-order but it goes only to the GDM store entrance page. Check this out and wonder what the Hell is going on with that gang in Charlottesville. Another band is distributing the Grateful dead catalog now. Maybe they just don't care?

I love 11-11-1973...it's an amazing show, one of the best...not too familiar with 11-09...11-10 is a nice show...in fact 11-11-1973 was the last sbd that I downloaded before the "change in policy"...I'm cueing it up now as I write this...

In a lot of "best show" conversations over the years, 11/11/73 has usually come up. There's a natural segue to, "Heck, might as well change that to 11/xx/73." :)

It's the Dark Star->Eyes sequence that makes people foam at the mouth. First set is fairly pedestrian for the times.

well im a huge fan of eyes but again its not anything tremendous quite blah. if the only reason ppl dig the dead was cuz of the drugs, bein sober is why im not really into them. that being said id really think it would be hard to get the younger generation into them esp w/o jerry around(per earlier thread)to me the pigpen yrs were the best he brought the blues element which after his passing was gone altho i do kinda dig the disco that keith and donna brought. the only other yrs would be maybe when in the dark came out. seems the only scenes doing well these days are jam bands, blues/jazz bands and the lame nu-metal. wat i wouldnt do for an small outdoors thrash metal fest with slayer woohoo but then again i have a 4 nite dso comin up peace

From what I can gather looking at the last few days' worth of posts here and there, fans stumbled onto a webpage that was accessible but not announced/ready yet, and word spread. In some cases people were able to place an order via a link; orders were later voided. A couple people report receiving a message like the following.

Too bad about the slipup, as the surprise is spoiled! Oh well. At least we should no longer be confused.
